Monitoring ruminal CO₂ holdup
An exploratory study used ATR-IR sensing to follow dissolved CO₂ in three lactating dairy cows exposed to dietary treatments designed to increase SARA risk. It reported an association between CO₂ holdup and SARA.
A small longitudinal study exploring a proposed mechanism; it does not by itself establish causation or validate the finished RumenAI product.

Ruminal CO2 Holdup Monitoring, Acidosis Might Be Caused by CO2 Poisoning
Research · 2019 · Pilot study
CO₂ equilibrium and rumen health
Three lactating cattle received dietary treatments designed to lower rumen pH. The study explored CO₂ species and reported clinical SARA during CO₂ holdup, although low pH occurred across treatments.
The pilot findings motivate further investigation of dissolved CO₂, bicarbonate and rumen conditions.

Dissolved CO₂, rumen pH and nutritional disease
This review examines dissolved CO₂ as a biologically active component of the rumen buffer system. It proposes that CO₂ holdup may help explain links between feeding, rumen pH and nutritional disease.
A scientific framework and discussion of mechanisms, rather than a product validation trial.
